  • Good Cooker!

Em told me this weekend that I was a good cooker, isn't that great? She said (in her most dramatic way) "Oh, Mommy you are such a good cooker."  And even thought it was pizza (not delivery, I actually did make it), I was flattered and pleased to have such a compliment from a 2 year old.  Especially since I am not the best cooker!

Last night, Em prayed the dinner grace.  She said " Thank you Jesus fir dis day, Thank you for Mommy and Daddy and Efen, and for dis food... I did it Mommy, AMEN"  I loved it.

This morning Ethen was trying to walk and hit his head so badly on the cupboard that it hurt me to see.  He cried for just a bit and then was fine but wow what a crazy purple welt he had right on his forehead, my poor guy.  But no, still not walking yet.  I have let go of pushing it since (I know you are not supposed to compare, BUT) Em was walking at 9 months and running at 10 (no exaggeration).  So Ethen will be 11 months on Friday and still struggling to stand on his own.  But wow is he cute!

I love my kids and praise God for them, but probably not near as much as I should!

  • Finally...

Oh my goodness, over a month since I have xangaed, that is pathetic...  No good excuses, just too much going on.  But I wanted to say hello to everyone who might just happen upon this and I hope you have a blessed day.  God is working in my life right now like never before and I will be forever changed.  I am learning that prayer can be simple and done at all times, without rules and regulations (hello Trish, huh?) and that food (sugar) will never give me what God can and does...  Seems quite obvious I know but some of the most important lessons in life are the simple ones that you just never take the time to really comprehend.  God is so good and is so faithful to stand by and wait for his children to learn and find the path to righteousness.  I love being a child of God and all the knowledge of love and grace that comes with it. Yes!!!

Well have to get... have a great day and be blessed in a peace that passes understanding :)

  • On the road again...

Things don't always turn out the way you think they will, that is my lesson for the year.  If I can say one thing about our year, it would be that, things don't always turn out the way you think they are going to.  Or better put, God doesn't always work the way you think He might...

So here we go again, back to the north country on Tuesday...  For those who have missed us, yipee we are coming back.  For those who were secretly glad we were gone, oops sorry :)

I find myself wondering why all of this has happened.  Has our crazy year been our deviation from God's plan and the result or just what God wanted to happen?  The jury is still out but my prayers are focused on growth and wisdom from all of this.  It is hard sometimes when other people influence your life by their decisions, I mean really influence your life... kind of  tough to understand.

It was great to see my Mom, the kids love her so much.  So that was a wonderful part of this whole experience...

So we found a place today and here we come... Thanks so much everyone  for all your love, prayers, and support.  I can't say that I will be sad to come back, I am very much looking forward to it, well not another plane ride with the munchkins (yikes) but if I can do it once, I can do it again!

    With love,

    Trish

  • We made it!

Wow, we are here!  What a day yesterday was...  But praise God we made it safely and are doing great, even if our luggage is still lost somewhere in the United States :)

Em and Ethen survived the plane ride, not with flying colors but they were troopers.  I get impatient on long flights so I felt for them.  I did watch some of  a movie without sound because I am too cheap to by the headphones, like $5 is going to break the bank, huh?

Hey, the door bell just rang...  Yes, it was our luggage, Praise God!  I didn't mind being without everything else, it was just Ethen's car seat that we were struggling without.

Anyway, have to get.  The kids are having a hard time with colds, missing daddy, and just being in yet another strange place.  However, GG and Rob are great and it didn't take Em any time to get back to being GG best girl and knowing it :)

Love you everyone and I'm really going to try to get better at this!

God is good and is always with us, even on airplanes with two crying children (thank you Lord for a peace that passes understanding!)
